In 2009, WTA began the Fiber To The Home project in Hoyt, to update existing copper wiring and offer high speed internet.  The project began in the original Wiggins exchange.  WTA has now completed the Wiggins project and is continuing on to the Hoyt Exchange. 

 

This Fiber To The Home project will actually change the way you live.  We are working diligently to move forward with this project.

 

By installing Fiber To The Home you will notice a difference in your home phone service and you will literally be able to have a direct connection to the internet.  In turn this could allow individuals to make choices such as to work from home.  This could result in a growth for our local economy by keeping jobs and shopping local.  This is a WIN - - WIN situation.

 









TOP TEN REASONS YOU SHOULD CHOOSE FIBER OPTICS VS WIRELESS

    1)       Following are just a few reasons why  as a community we should choose to install Fiber Optics to the Home (FTTH) vs. Wireless services.    With FTTH there is a direct connection, therefore there is NO loss of signal.  With wireless signal there is always a chance for dropped signals.

     2)   Tower availability for rural areas.  Did you know wireless is usually only wireless to the first tower?  And then your call is usually transferred back to the regular telephone network.

3)    MORE, MORE, MORE.  More information can be sent/received with FTTH.

        4)   Security.  The security of each of our identities has become a growing   issue.  With FTTH we know the direct connection is more secure than wireless.
